It has a lot of advertisements, just like myspace,
but yeah, it also has 'fan groups' that people can join and stuff like that,
and they advertise certain products.

Facebook & myspace are money making machines that are built off advertising and popularity,..etc. Dumbass people flock to this crap in the masses and essentially makes somebody millions. It's just dunb trends & fads.

I've made use of Facebook advertising with some success. But it is not an easy way out. There are a lot of advertisers and you will have to make yours stand out from the crowd.
Maybe you could combine it with pages and groups. That way you get the most out of and advertising campaign within Facebook.

Facebook is introducing your business brand as an individual that built on positive relationship (sharing), once that trust is built or you have manage to invite the community to be part of your club, you can move them close to your brand and finally experience your brand.
However, your values offering have to be genuine, otherwise that relationship experience will be put to stop. Remember user, customer or individual like yourself have the power to control what there want to hear.
