Welll you could always check out everything on that site first before doing what you want to do you could also ask your community about it or maybe someone who has always been on the site or even contact the site manager and ask how things work on their site

Simple, non-technical, non IT answer:

Basically, that means that you have used appropriate keywords and such to get the site as close to the top as possible when people google something.

For example, lets say your company sells customized inline skates - you'd want it to be one of the first sites that pops up if someone googles:
inline, in line, skates, inline skates, in line skates, blades, rollerblades, or roller blades.
If any of those work, you probably have decent SEO keywords.

If, however, they can only find you by typing in "inline skates" but not "roller blades" then you missed out and your site isn't getting optimum Search Engine usage.

It just means that search engines can "read" your website correctly.

The best resource is Google.

and you'll be fine..
