Because they are idiots. I know a lot of kids who do it and I scare the carp out of them with it in an effort to get them to stop being so stupid. It's like laying the table for the cops to arrest you.

I've never smoked or drank before.
I play video games, cuddle with my cat (because I'm single and lonely), and go to the gym on a daily basis.

Some of them want to look cool, others just do it for the fun, I guess. As for posting pictures of the stuff they did and drank, I'm assuming it's because they want to show off.
