What happens when you drag a file from your desktop and put it in google chrome?

If the file can be viewed using Google Chrome, then the file will be opened and you will be able to view the contents of the file. Certain examples of file types that can be viewed using Google Chrome are: HTML files, text files, image files and Flash files.

If the file cannot be viewed in Google Chrome, then the file will automatically be downloaded and saved in your Downloads folder. In other words, a copy of the file will be made in the Downloads folder.
