its a thing that cools your house, and wifi is a thing that connects computers but without wires

It's a new type of wireless band that's a lot faster than wireless b/g/n.

Keep in mind that your internet connection is bottlenecked by your modem and cable company so even if you get a super fast router that is capable of crazy speeds you'll be limited by your cable company.

It's most useful when you're transferring stuff on your local network like movies to a TV, data to a networked hard drive etc.

It has nothing to do with AC systems although these modern routers get a little hot.

It means that the device supports Wi-Fi standard 802.11ac. That's the best one there is, at least for today.
