Some sites content is average, but they come in top of search results, because they use 'cheap seo tricks'.
What about authentic content?
Is it okay for Google?

cheap tricks? Simple. Google will block the site in search results. sooner or later.
Content can be real, but the rules for formatting them for SEO should be based on google's rules.
When you read google documentation, you can find out how to set your page properly..
