Google Chrome blocked by firewall? - faithfulclub589 - 04-28-2014 12:43 AM

For some reason Google Chrome is blocked by my firewall and I don't know how to unblock it. When I go into my control panel to adjust the setting's I can't click anything. It says that the settings are being managed by vendor application McAfee Personal Firewall. Help, please?

try uninstalling google chrome and then re-installing it, or you could un-install google chrome and download something else like mozilla firefox or internet explorer.

Go to the McAfee settings, go to firewall options, and trust Google Chrome

I would advise anything but Mcafee programs, but another poster said it already ... go to Mcafee and somwhere there will be "firewall settings' and there is probably a "block" by chrome ... remove that, or "switch it to trust/ok/allow" ... and that should fix your issue

These are a few tips to help secure your computer at least somewhat ... .I am not saying none of these programs do not have false-alarms or you'll be 100% protected all the time.. These are just a few tips.

Firewall -
I would recommend Comodo's Firewall ( http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/ ) makes a great firewall product and they have a free or pro version available. Both firewalls are easy to use and configure
