What is an E#/Fb fingering on flute? or an alternate name for the note? - Krista B - 04-28-2014 01:12 AM as A# is Bb and so on E# is Fb. are there any other names? or what is the fingering for it on flute? - mamianka - 04-28-2014 01:18 AM Yes, A# sounds the same as Bb - but you have hit an exception with E#. That note ( the enharmonic spelling) is F. And Fb is E. If you look at a piano, there is no black note between E and F - that is why this is an exception. same deal with B and C - B# is C - Cb is B. - Warren - 04-28-2014 01:24 AM You are looking for the term enharmonic. ( e sharp is enharmonic to f ). The missing black key on the piano gives you the half-step necessary to the major key of C.When playing other scales the sharps and flats are added to create the steps and half steps of the diatonic scale. |
