Whats the big deal about twitter? - kadiss17 - 10-15-2012 09:07 PM

I just don't get it. I already carry a phone in my pocket that allows me to be in touch with anyone at anytime. I have a computer, get emails, etc..

I don't feel the need to alert my friends about every piece of inane minutia that happens to me everyday ( that seems to be the way they are marketing this). What use is it? Am I missing something? Why is everybody so 'gung-ho' about this thing?

AND How much contact is enough?

1) No one really knows what is so special about twitter. Really.
2) Contact to the point in which you are an overwhelming presence is the point in which you should back off. As you said, people don't need to know every little thing.

well twitter is more about sending one message and all your friends are updated in one place. Its a connivence thing.

Yeah I agree with you. Who really cares what someone is doing all day.
Twitter: I am about to go to the bathroom.
Twitter: I went to the bathroom.
Twitter: I stepped on a blade of grass.
Twitter: I just tackled a squirrel.
Twitter: I just scored perfect on a personality test.

Who cares!
