How bad is it to have a - in my company's website URL? - Dora - 04-28-2014 01:31 AM

I'm not giving out the name but I'm to provide an example.

http://www.bubblekingdom.com is taken.

What if I make http://www.bubble-kingdom.com?

This won't hurt your rankings on it's own, but bear in mind that a URL with more than one - can be hard for users to remember

One hyphen should be no problem, technically it's a proper word separator search engines understand, although multiple hyphens is probably bad news, I have heard that Google tests their junk site filters by counting the number of hyphen domain names the results have.

I hate to have to type them in off a business card.
