This whole Big Bird thing ranks right up there with one of the stupidest things Democrats have twisted into some major issue. Big Bird and PBS are not going away with or without government funding. PBS does a great job raising funding, They run a few commercials like networks to make up the difference. Personally, I would rather see that money the government gives PBS go to feeding hungry kids, or to food banks. Geesh.

*P.S. look at how MAD the republicans are, that Big Bird is getting all this attention! ROFL! Since when has Big Bird ever been Public Enemy #1? Never thought I'd live to see the day... lol. It's okay to spend trillions of bucks looking for imaginary WMD's, but it's not okay for "viewers like you" to support public television out of their own free will? lol.
Maybe, I'll just post the "Save Big Bird" page all over the place, and URGE everyone I can think of to 'LIKE' the page... and I'll do it just to torque the republicans off! After all, this is still a free country the last time I checked...
