Wifi issue? - Amazingball806 - 04-28-2014 02:02 AM

Wifi button orange and won't turn on?
Hi my wifi button on my compaq cq45 laptop suddenly went orange today and now it won't turn on so there are no networks available.
It works if I plug in a enthrnet cable and the wifi on my phone and tv work.

I am using windows 8 which I absolutely hate but that's besides the point...

So far I have
Used system restore (didn't work)
Refreshed the whole computer (also didn't work)
Taken the battery out and used power supply only and read to click f10 on startup to access bios menu (whatever that is) said I should apply default settings but I couldn't find anything that said this so exited and am now back on desktop

I'm not sassy on the computer but do kind of no somethings so if you could help me speaking non computer language that will help.

The wifi only stopped working about 4 hours ago.
Please help!! I need to use the Internet and can't sit conected to the cord as its in a ridiculous place in my house.

Thanks in advance

I've had a look at device manager and I don't even think there is a wifi driver installed I'm not sure

At the time this happened I was Dow loading a torrent could this of had a virus attached or something!??

Just can't seem to get anywhere and it's driving me nuts lol
