How do you tell if someone has ignored or denied your Facebook Friend Request? - Nick - 04-28-2014 02:35 AM

I have googled this a few times trying to find an answer, and while I did find some, most of the answers about 5 years ago or so. I haven't found an updated one or any that were relatively recent, because I know the Facebook layout and everything changes so frequently. So currently, right now, in 2014, how do you tell if somebody has died or ignored your friend request? Does just permanently say "Friend Request Sent" on their page, as it does when you actually sent one? Or would "Add as a Friend" come up again? Any way to tell?
It should say "and while I did find some, most of the answers were from/posted about 5 years ago or so"

They just sit on their friend request list. I have teenaged kids and I say funny things on FB, so sometimes their friends send requests. I only accept them if I know the kid well. So I've got maybe a dozen just sitting there.

if they share post publicly, then maybe when you send the request and they're taking a long time to confirm, then check they're profile. if there's new posts on they're profile that means he or she saw the request but is ignoring you. i think that's the only way. maybe they could be slick and go on their profile and just log out. but check for available clues

I am not sure, but I think it will show you "Friend request sent" if you are being ignored. If the person denied you (or friend you then unfriend) then you see "Add Friend" again.

Facebook, for some reason, thinks not telling us this stuff is protecting privacy....which is stupid.

I hope that helped.
