I want to update my Google Chrome to the latest version, but I don't know how.

It should automatically check for updates, but to force Google Chrome to check for updates, click the wrench in the upper right hand corner, then hit About Google Chrome. A little window will pop up telling you the version and it will check for updates.
I highly recommend Google Chrome (10) BETA. It's much faster with less loading time at application launch and running scripts and such. Go to http://www.google.com/landing/chrome/beta/ to download the new Google BETA (It's never crashed on me, or anyone I know with it)
