Is it weird to join the "accepted" Facebook page and buy a sweater for a school before I've decided? - Afterbiology1 - 04-28-2014 02:54 AM

I recently got into UChicago and thought it would be pretty cool to have a crewneck from them. I also got an email telling me to join their class of 2018 page; however, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to attend because of money issues. I'm also waiting on some decisions. Would it be weird? It was one of my top choices.

Thanks!

I know a lot of people who joined the accepted Facebook pages of multiple schools they got into. They wanted to see how the incoming classes for each school were. It's totally fine. Just make sure to remove yourself from the group if you decide not to attend. I would hold off on buying any school merchandise for now though. Wait until you decide which school you're going to go to. If you buy it before and then decide not to go then you're stuck with a crew neck you can't really wear.

You are cool without making a bunch of entrepreneurs wealthy by buying their clothes. It is taking things a bit far when everyone has to wear an identifying piece of clothing. Why not just a uniform? That's what you do when you get out of college, wear similar clothes, suits and ties. relax and wear something you like.
