Sorry if this is a stupid question Does it send it to your email or does it just say it on your main facebook page (Friend Request canceled)

just go back to your friend's profile, and look for the add to friends button again
if it says "add to friends" instead of "request pending" that means your friend denied it

Go to there Profile and See If the Add as a Friend Button appears if it Does than They Canceled your Request No Email Notification is Sent
