What is your legal advice, can he sue me? - Alison Dubois - 04-28-2014 03:14 AM

I had a facebook friend, never met him. He is a writer, got his book published. He posted an article he wrote in his blog. I read it, and the last paragraph was about the movie: Eyes Wide Shot, and realised that I read it before, a few days ago, when the article on Eyes Wide Shot was circulating on the facebook, and that this man,. just translated this article, and wrote in one paragraph what the original author wrote. The same conclusions, he even used the same photos. I pointed that out to this man, posting the link of the original article under his, and wrote that he just translated already published work, made a summary, and that he should have put the source of his article too, as it is not very nice to just take things from other people. He then said, after he and his friends started calling me stupid and etc, that he will sue me, because I dared to say that he used somebody elses work. I then said, fuck off, and deleted my messages on his fb wall, and deleted him, as he created lots of negative energy with hi attitude. I wonder if he can sue me. He was very abusive and his friend too. Thank You
i know it is facebook, therefore how ridiculous is he?

He can sue but he would not win if you were telling the truth. What he would sue for is defamation and he would have to prove that the statement was false and that you knew it was false.

Legal advice is not allowed here.

But if you're telling the story accurately, he is just making noise.
