We broke up earlier this month and I tried to remain distant friends. He liked my Instagram pics and watched my snapchat stories.
But his best friend went up to me at work and told me he was so happy now and kept bringing him up which made me feel terrible so I blocked him on fb, snapchat, and Instagram.
Will he notice or given care? Was this the right move?

It was definitely the right move. He will notice and he deserves it. It is better to move on.
