Wifi Limited Access whenever I turn laptop on. Windows 7? - Smilingmitten808 - 04-28-2014 04:25 AM

So my laptop recently has decided to stop Wifi working after it's hibernated or been in sleep. When it turns back on, it says 'Not connected - connections are available' but the name of my Wifi is still bolded (as if it was connected) but just says Limited Access. When I diagnose/troubleshoot the connection, it repeats the message 'There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter'.

I've done a few things to fix this because it wasn't solving the problem itself. I checked my wifi driver is up to date, made sure it was enabled etc. etc., deleted a registry key because for some reason my Network Connections page was completely empty (that's now fixed), and I changed the power management settings to stop my laptop turning my wireless driver off itself to save power. I'll also point out that it's not a problem with my router or the Internet connection itself, because it happens when I try and connect to my uni flatmate's router connection as well. It seems to be a problem with the laptop itself.

It's gotten to the point now where when I turn my laptop on (after sleep OR a reboot, it behaves the same) I get the limited access problem with the same error message. For some reason, it now fixes itself within a few minutes of turning the laptop on without me doing anything but I'd really like it to stop doing it at all. What can I do to make my Wifi work as soon as my laptop is switched on?

I think the best way is to disconnect the wifi then try again search it and then connect it. If it doesnt worked os just reinstall the WIndows Again but dont lose the data.

depending on your laptop Fn+F2 or Fn+F8 will disable your reciever, hit the hotkey combination real quick, wait about 5 seconds, then hit it again,
