Can I use a WiFi router to connect my devices? - Ole Oskar - 04-28-2014 04:41 AM

Hi, I am currently in a house without WiFi. It used to be my grandfathers house, but he died recently and we are going to stay here until we have moved all his stuff out of the house.

I was wondering if I can plug his WiFi router to a power outlet and connect my iPhone and Macbook to use Apples "Remote" app with my iTunes library on my mac as well as a few other app that uses a home network, but doesn't actually need any internet connection. I'm not sure how these apps work, but if someone could tell me if I can do this with only a router and my devices and preferably how I can reset the router to factory settings, because whenever I try to reset the settings, the router gives off a WiFi signal for a few seconds before it disappears from my WiFi list.
The router is a Netgear (wep824?)

Thanks Smile

Yes. Change to a WiFi capable router and you can hook your devices.

Sure

Your WiFi hub/router provides a connection between all the local devices on that WiFi hub/router..
