One computer uses a wirless internet connection while the other currently has no internet connection. I want to know if I can connect the two computers together to share the single connection, hopefully through the ethernet port. If it is possible, please explain how. Also, one is a PC with Windows XP while the other is a iMAC with OS 9.2.

you need a router, to do MAC/Win, they both use TCP/IP and run together just fine. Sharing files/folders will require some special software.

When you say a "wireless connection" do you mean that you have a subscription to a WISP or are you picking up somoene elses wireless? Or do you have a DSL or cable connection with an access point/router?
I need more info about your "wireless connection" to provide accurate info

You have to have an external modem and router with enough spots for the number of computers you need to hook up.

You need a wireless router, and a modem from your Internet Provider, or a network wall jack. First, take an Ethernet cable, plug one end into your modem or wall jack, and the other end into the Internet port in your wireless router. Attach the other computers Ethernet cable to the ports labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4. It doesn't matter which one, but each computer gets its own port. So, in other words, take one end of the Ethernet cable, plug one end into one computer, and the other end into a numbered port in your router. Same with the other computer. The other computer just gets another port. Make sure you have a broadband/coax cable coming from the jack to the modem, and make sure you have the power cable for both the modem and router. If you follow all the steps correctly, you computers will now have Internet.

Well here is the solution, but your question is not enough to answer.
1. If you have a wireless antenna to connect to your ISP
2. If you using WiFi Hot spot
Answers for N1
If you are using Wireless Antenna to connect to your ISP, you should have two lan cards. One for to connect to your Wireless Antenna and one for to connect to switch or hub.
And you should know the Ip address, Subnet mask, Default gateway and DNS to connect correctly to your ISP. In the network connections window make sure the Internet connection is using PPPoE. If yes share it .
Answer for N2
If you using WiFi hot spot you need wireless Router. After configuring the router connect two PC's to the router using standart straight ethernet cable.
