I connect the internet from my modem to ps3 ( broadband connection ) but it gathers the id adress but won't connect to the internet. any idea. thank you

Be sure to set all the settings to automatic.

On the XMB of the PS3 go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Settings>easy>wired. Save and test the connection.
