Wifi Problems "limited access" or "No Internet access"? - Respectedweek973 - 04-28-2014 10:06 AM

my laptop wifi windows 8.1 keeps dropping connection.
it will connect but later it will say limited access or no internet access.

i tried
DNS reseting/flush/release/renew/reset logs/ all with CMD,
I tried the power management, settings.
I did a full recover on my computer

I had centruy link, and it use to work fine. had no problems

now that i have xfinity i have connections problems.
its weird, my other two laptops (windows 7) seem to be ok. and they don't disconnect, nor does my tablet.
its just my hp laptop with windows 8.1

In generally this problem occurs when pc has mannul dns. And Router has auto dns. Or vice versa

Do some searches on your router. Some routers have configurations that result in connections being dropped, sometimes frequently. Heat also could be an issue. I had this same issue that seems to be resolved when I put a heat sink above and below the router and also put a small fan to blow on it. If your router has been up for a long time you might also try recycling it.

1.Restart computer
2.Reset modem + router.
3.Right click on the Wireless Network Connection icon(computer Tskbar). On drop-down menu left click Diagnose and Repair.
