military rules and regulations question? - Sam - 04-28-2014 10:09 AM

i have been given an assignment to look up what the rules are regarding the us army's policy on social media.

what is an individual soldier aloud to or not aloud to post on his/her social media websites for example facebook, instagram, twitter... and others?

im going to teach a class on this on Monday and don't know where to start. a website listing the policy or rules would be quite helpful.

i am a little familiar with opsec security but definitely need some more information.

You're just now prepping for a class you're teaching tomorrow? Maybe you can call in sick.

Ummm...yea, what Squid said.
However, military personnel are told to never put any operational information on any social media web sites. Operational information includes things like deployments, specific duty times, duty operations and transportation issues and equipment issues and cpabilites. Even how and where the food comes into a base mess hall is kept quiet.

Uh oh. Sounds like you got in trouble with social media, got corrective training, and you left it to the last minute. Your bad.

ALLOWED. you are going to teach a class and cannot even spell the word correctly?!

each command has their own policies. nothing service wide.

All regulations are on the internet so I suggest you start googling right now until you find what regulations you are looking for. "OPSEC and social media regulations" "Social media regulations."
