why i.always see only those several friends on my newsfeeds? does fb selectively put things on my news feeds? - Hannah - 04-28-2014 10:32 AM

i hv over two hundred friends (i guess that's the same for most others) in fb. but in my news feeds, the posts are always from <50 ppl- do fb selectively show new posts? also, when will one's comment on a post show up in news feeds?

FB has complicated (and very secret, they're not publicised at all) algorithms to determine the closeness of friendship between you and another person, and the people that Facebook determines that you are closer friends with will show up on your wall a lot more.

It's most likely a combination of posts that you comment on, posts that you comment on that other people have also commented on, posting to someone else's wall, tags, mentions etc. that affect that algorithm.

so basically some of my remote friends (friebds i hardly have any contact on fb) will not hv their posts on my news feeds?

it's really strange enough... there are ppl who always update status on fb, but i hv never liked/ commented on their posts; yet their statuses always appear on my news feeds...

No, actually only those friend appear in your time line that have doing something on Facebook.
And some people just make a FB account, not for daily use.
Some use it but with some privacy so notification may not be come.
So remaining you will see in your time line.
So it's natural thing. Don't worry, keep enjoy.

No It Happens as The Activity Happens Facebook Selects Random Stuff And Puts it on your News Feed

So If So And So Became Friends you may See Something Like That on The News Feed

You May See So And So Commented on A Photo

And So on

Some People Will Show More Than Other People in Your News Feed The Ones That you Interact With They May Show More in Your News Feed
