How do i remove the WPA/WPA2 PSK from a router? - Drunk Jellyfish - 10-15-2012 09:13 PM

I got a phone running android 2.2 and i want to access google, facebook, and android market. The main things for the android. But when i click Wi-Fi and click my network its secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK. Any help on how i can get rid of this on my router so i can connect to Wi-Fi?

Why would you want to unsecure your router? Just get the WPA password.

I dont suggest removing WPA/WPA2 PSK from your internet. People will start to steal your internet and stealing your bandwidth, meaning stealing your internet speed. But for your android to get wifi, there should be option to type in your password to access internet.

Every router is different. Go to the makers website and download the user guide for your exact model. Follow the directions to go into the router (usually http://192.168.x.y) and it will give you the default user and password. Follow that to enter the wifi security area. There you will see the password that you entered earlier. Either use that or enter another one that you can remember. Some devices cannot use WPA so you will need to select WEP.
Actually you can simply press the reset button on the router with a paper clip for 30 seconds. That will reset the router to defaults. In that case there will either be no security password or it will be the one that is printed on a label on the router. I don't recommend leaving the router unprotected. Its a mean world out there.
