hard to know
but
generally youre looking for items in good condition
rare and collectable is good
and certainly, have an understanding of what youre buying
if your think youre buying gold sovereigns for $20 ea you may be in trouble

Good luck as a small seller. Big box retailers, high volumes sellers and the Chinese seller shave taken over ebay. Small sellers do not get fast access to their PayPal funds often nor do they get good placement in item search results nowadays.
