Dsl internet connection unstable? - nlucky - 04-28-2014 10:48 AM

My modem's dsl light was blinking so i had no internet connection and i had a technician come in. When he came in, the modem was working, so he said if it continues to D.C buy a new modem. the internet was working fine until night, when it crashed again so i went out to buy a new modem, Motorola. I changed all the filters and cable and it was working great all day. However the next day the DSL light was blinking again, so no connection. so i called for a technician to come tomorrow, and now its working again. Anyone had this problem?

* Phone has static, sometimes solid DSL light when i call the DSL company
* Technician came and did something to make connection more stable
people have said it might be filters since it has static but i bought brand new modem with filters
and another weird thing is, when i use the phone, the internet works.... is that evidence of something else that is wrong? like phone line? and how do i check?

have you called you ISP to have the line checked.. if your still having issues with your new modem that means the problem is already the line connection.

You are experiencing what we call intermittent sync- or better known as on and off internet access. The cause of this problem maybe internal or external. Internal-setup should be like this for you to have a stable internet access. Modem should be place 3 feet away from ANY electronic materials= TV, lamps, computers or router and it should not be on top of carpeted areas. Security Alarm system should have a filter. When you use the phone do you hear static noise? if you do then this is a filter issue.. if not proceed to external factors. is line clear or ok? what I mean when you talk to a technical support did the rep. mention your line is good? when he mentions that, ask him if you are build in the correct Router Circuit.. the rep. will check that and if you are and still your not able to have a stable internet connection... another level of support will remove you from your current server and transfer your circuit to another ISP router so you can have a stable internet connection.. the process is messy.. but a piece of advice if you want this fix for good you have to have patience so the people that will help you will realy used all resources that they can get.
