The major search engines are majorly irritating. I do not want the /'s excluded if I search for assets/images/mountains. I do not want the engine to look for each keyword anywhere within the document. I do not want the search engine looking for similar words. I want to search for exactly what I type. Is it really so hard to make a search engine like that?

When you go to a search engine like Google try to make your search with " on both ends like for your example try "assets/images/mountains" or other phrases in " and it will search for only what is inside the " exactly as you type it.

Refine your query; put more details into the search slot, arranged in the proper sequence.

If the quotes " " don't work, try brackets [ ]. Make sure to use the same punctuation before and after the query. Not sure you are going to get great results with / in your search, because search engines will not understand what you are asking. Remind yourself, that you are making a request that is based on an algorithm and not what a person can decipher. No human is going to help you get what you want.
I would try something like "assets images mountains" which leaves out the /.
In my experience, good search results happen after trying lots of things. It is akin to lining up the clues to open the right doors in a treasure hunt.
