well ... how important this meta tags into our webpages to put in . .

should these be added into our pages .. how useful these are rite now as far as seo is concerned ..
is these tags useful these days for search engines .. ? specially google ..

Hello,
You want to set your pages to <meta name="robots" content="INDEX, FOLLOW"> when you want the spiders, such as Google bots (and others), to crawl that page.
Set a page to <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow" /> when you do not want it crawled.
And yes, it is important to set these meta tags not just for Google.
