you write ebay, and explain why you want to cancel it.
or you write the seller and ask them to cancel the bid.

or you do both.

You cant, but you can write to the person selling item...plus if someone else bids your scott free....I talk to the seller a bunch of times and everything went great...most people will just re sell it

If you entered a wrong amount, there is a procedure to follow that enables you to cancel off your bid (under certain circumstances) to make your correct bid. Ie you entered in $1000 as your max bid, but you meant to enter $100. Go to the ebay "help pages" for retracting a bid for details and the procedure. Otherwise, a bid is binding once made. You can email the seller and ask them to cancel off your bid. But they can say no. Obviously if you win and don't pay, you will get an unpaid bidder strike. Two or more of those and your eBay account will be suspended.
