Are you finding Firefox browser still faster than IE11 in Windows 8.1? - 747 - 04-28-2014 04:58 PM

I've given honest and fair trials with IE11. It's good but FF is faster and doesn't get snagged as IE11 does sometimes.

Sure it is faster. Firefox is faster than even Chrome.
The simple reason being that Firefox is a small but highly configurable browser whereas Internet Explorer and Chrome is almost like bloatware.
With enough bells and whistles the size of Chrome is 150 Mb (version 8.0.552.237). The install file size of Firefox comes to be about 32-45 MB. Internet explorer with all its memory leaks and all that, maybe comparable in size to Chrome.
If you check online, you will see many sites that say that IE performed faster than Firefox or Chrome. The point here is to understand that these benchmark tests were done under specific test conditions. These results are not indicative of how fast any browser performs under normal day to day use conditions.
