Remove the information at the source, search engines are just indexing publicly available info, typically they stop shoeing it within a couple of weeks of it being removed.

Fortune 500 SEOs might use a Reputation Management service employing lawyers, crisis negotiators to get material removed, if they fail, web developers create new and promote existing positive content to push the negatives off the first page of results.

As you didn't specify, just in case it is your own website, add the following to the page <head> section to get it removed....

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,noarchive">

This instructs search engines to a) not list the page and b) not store a previous (cached) version.

You can make it in robots.txt.

Confidential information is not crawled by Search Engines if you mention them in robots.txt file.
