My account was hacked on twitter? - fireyhair - 10-01-2012 03:28 AM

Someone I had followed on twitter sent me a DM saying "omg what are you doing in this video" or another one saying "exactly what would you be doing in this video? how disturbing" or something along the lines of that.
I am usually really cautious with stuff but I stupidly clicked on the link and it said, please login to Twitter to continue. I STUPIDLY did that and then realised it was fishy so went out. This was roughly 5 days ago. I go on my DMs to check from a friend and there's LOADS of them and one of them said "I don't know who you are but this isn't me." and I thought "I didn't send that".
I looked and I had sent all of them to these people. I searched on google and found this link http://www.vtdesignworks.com/blog/what-are-you-doing-in-this-video-twitter-spamphishing-do-not-click which pretty much explained it and what had happened. I have changed the passcode now but I am still pretty stressed.
I understand that it probably won't happen now but I am still wondering what will happen or if there's something I can do.
I am so sorry if this sounded weird, but any idea's as to what to do next? I want to avoid deleting my twitter if possible.

thats not uncommon. as soon as you click on the link and you are logged into your account, it will automatically send the link to your other friends/followers. this also happens on facebook, msn and other such websites. this is how the link gets around. never click on things like that, but although you logged in, it shouldnt happen again unless you do the exact same thing and click the link again.
most people understand it wasnt you and it was automatic and just ignore it so forget about it.
