how do i get more answers on my questions? - Drunkenladybug715 - 04-28-2014 05:45 PM

When I ask questions I usually get a few answers, but I was wondering how to get more answers from people on yahoo answers

Just email random users saying, "can you answer my question", then give the link... some might answer it, some will ignore it.

Post your questions when North America is awake, not when north America is fast asleep or is putting children to bed and getting ready bed . It's 2;30 am CDT where i am. I'm calling it "day" and I'm signing out, play a few FREE yahoo games, , maybe go get the mail, but maybe not, and going to bed. It's after midnight in California. I'm a life long night owl,. AND i do NOT have to keep civilized hours unless i WANT to or have to.

Edit: I agree with not emailing people people to annoy them with random questions. I enabled my email partly as a trap. People think that when they email people privately the community guidelines do not apply, so they will email insult ans harassing emails that they would never post on YA because they know what they post on YA might be reported. Harassing people by email is a violation of MAIL community guidelines, I report insulting and harassing emails pretty quickly, and i USUALLY do NOT respond to them. That's the MAIL version not feeding the trolls egos. I've disabled my email before because of harassing or threatening emails ( a really wimpy rape threat) emails, but I was still learning how YA works when I did that. If only Customer would understand that the full headers of personal emails are impossible to find. Yes, I have emailed Customer Care to with a request to please explain HOW to find the full headers of personal emails. So far i have NOT received a response from Customer Care.

Don't email random users as suggested! I know I for one would turn off email access if that became a trend. Getting an email to answer a question would ensure that I didn't answer it rather than did.

The biggest audience in terms of numbers to Y!A is indeed North America so you can consider this when placing questions but a couple more tips
- keep the question fairly concise (lots of people won't invest time reading a very long question
- make sure you categorise correct e.g. your question about Instagram didn't get any answers. If I were you I would have posted either here https://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index?sid=396546444 where there are lot of people who live their lives in & around social networks so would likely know (although you run the risk of a bit of a flippant answer in this category

There is Nothing you Can Do Really to Get more Answers They Will Either Answer it or They Wont

if your Not Getting Enough Answers on a Question you Can Always Re Ask It Again
