Should i unfriend my mom on Facebook? - Harry - 04-28-2014 06:01 PM

She always look through the photos i posted there and she will comment on every single photos and said " my son are the best" "my son is handsome" " i love you son ".I don't like it.It's not like i hate her it's just you know what i mean right when parents started using Facebook and technologies.I just feel uneasy about this.I love her but should i unfriend and block her so that she would come across my fb account and shock that i'm not her fb friend anymore? She likes to tag me on everything but she actually didn't really know how to use Facebook.I don't wanna seem like an insolent child but what do you think?

Well, just tell her that you don't like it, I'm pretty sure your mother will understand.

I know exactly what you mean, dont unfriend/block her because she will eventually find out and that might hurt her and make her feel bad. The best thing to do here is to customize the privacy on your account for her. Facebook nowadays offers customization like never before. You can adjust the settings for a specific person,so when they tag you on a photo, you will first receive notification telling you if you want to approve the tag. There are lot of other options as well. Hope this helps.

Facebook security options constantly fail or have loopholes all over.
I depend on them and there are certain times like right now where I have to wait until I go home to use a desktop just to change security settings of who can see what I post otherwise it constantly reverts.

Also I have had people who I've added and put directly on a can't see posts setting and they see/share/comment on my pictures every time.

But to answer your question go to your moms page, click on friend, click to see more on the list and hit RESTRICT.
She will still be your friend, still see your profile but it'll be blank. No access to anything but not completely unfriended/blocked.
That's the only option that works consistently.
