EMD means Exact Match Domain.
In the past if you had an EMD then google would likely rank you higher for that keyword term.
Now it's less important...your content is what's important. EMD is more likely to give trust to your customers.

EMD (Exact Match Domain) is a Google Algo that say don't used high search keyword or brand name in domain name. This is a spam as the point of view of Google.
like:
keyword.com, thekeywords.com, keywordname.in etc.
If we used like this domain name then we will be penalize by the Google.
