You can pay a premium to have no adverts.

As Nigel suggests, or you can get your self hosted email address at your own website. eg:bauer@bauer.com

Of course not only don't you have advertising on your emails, but it is lots more private and secure.

At the left side of that ad, look for a small arrow. You can collapse the ad by clicking on that arrow. That only works for the ad on the right side.

Yahoo now offers an ad-free email for $50 per year.
