Is Myspace still a good way to market bands? - Mackenzie - 10-15-2012 09:18 PM

I want to have my band to have some sort of internet exposure. I was just wondering if it was worth taking time to make a Myspace page for my band or if it's too 2006 and just a waste of time. Facebook seems like a good idea too, maybe even Twitter?
Any Ideas?
Also, I wouldn't spam anyone, I hate when people do that. I would just make a page to have it on there, and I wouldn't send it to all of my friends or constantly talk about it. Just to have a page.
I'm not so sure about Twitter though, most of our demographic is on Facebook anyway.

No one uses MySpace anymore, and you shouldn't spam, I'd block you if you did that to me do it the old fashioned way and win battle of the bands

Yes many bands are still using MySpace. MySpace still gets upwards of seventy million views per month. So yes MySpace, can still be a viable resource for getting views, especially from users who don't or won't use Facebook, or Twitter. MySpace is also now under new ownership, as of June 29, 2011. So things may change. Also MySpace no longer has the classification of being a social networking site, its now class as a social entertainment destination. MySpace, has really changed it's appearance, a lot since 2006, to the point you might not even not recognize the site if you haven't visited it since 2006.
