Rumsfeld 'trained ape' comment stirs controversy

(CNN) – Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's comments earlier this week that a "trained ape" could have done a better job securing diplomatic relations with Afghanistan than the Obama administration sparked a backlash on social media.

God, you guys will take anything out of context if you can use it to make a conservative look bad.

(You're doing that, and you KNOW you're doing that.)

He said an ape could do a better job than Obama, and he is right. I hope he doesn't start pandering to the blacks now.

Maybe you're racist.

Meanwhile the real controversy should be about the continued bipartisan policy of staying in Afghanistan forever. Karzai is a heroin junkie who has no authority beyond his own palace. The vast majority of Afghans want the US out for good. It is perfectly understandable that he would try to increase his credibility within Afghanistan and at least pretend to not be a complete US sock puppet. the least bad thing about Rumsfeld's comments has to do with irrelevant monkey comments aimed at a president that varies very little in his general policy goals. This is a fake controversy centered around two war criminals.
