Fellow photographers, some questions for you? - xoxo - 04-28-2014 06:29 PM

So I am just an amateur photographer, @gretagramm if you want to follow me on instagram Smile

I take pictures with my new S4 Active, and everyne tells me I should get a digital camera. I am a beginner and don't know tons about photograpy but really enjoy it, any suggestions for a beginnerish camera but still really good and not too expensive?

My other question is what do you normally enjoy taking pictures of?
If you post them on instagram or social media do you ever use filters or are you against filters?

Also I was thinking if I ever got a professional camera that I'd love to advertise services for really cheap for things like engagement shoots, do you think that sounds stupid? Haha well thanks Smile

One of my good friends is a photographer. If you ask her (on Instagram) I'm sure she'd be glad to help. Her instagram is @jenjen_eatspeople

If you are serious about learning 'proper' photography then you need a camera capable of manual control of exposure. That means a bridge camera or a DSLR.

You haven't said what your budget is - which is rather crucial!

I shoot mostly people - from studio work to street photography, though I also do product shoots and a few landscapes.

Forget doing services for cheap until you have decent gear and a thorough knowledge of photography and how to get your exposure. Don't be yet another wannabe 'fauxtographer'.
