How do you hide your tweet? - Sridhar - 04-28-2014 06:47 PM

I am new to twitter.com

Is there a way I can hide a tweet from being viewed by the public at large? (Something like a private tweet)

What do I do if
1) I want my tweet to be visible only to my followers

2) I want my tweet to be visible to followers of a list. (Can I send a tweet to a list?)

3) I want my tweet to be visible to the person I send it to using @<name>.

Of course I can send the person a private message, if he or she allows it. Is there any other way?

For privacy reasons, I want none of these messages to appear in my profile page.

1) If you want to hide your tweets from the public, you simply go to Settings. There is an uption to tick off a box called 'Protect my Tweets'. So only those who follow you can see the tweets, AND you need to approve them when someone wants to follow you.

2) Not sure about this one.

3) I guess a DM is the only answer to this really.

2 Someone creates a list and follows people. The tweets of those people is the stream of the list. So, the list owner must add you to his/her list for your tweets to be in that stream.
