Will this affect my ebay sales? - The Cunning Linguist - 04-28-2014 07:31 PM I don't know much html code and I hate text-only descriptions, so I compromised by creating an elaborate ad with photoshop. Everything the customer needs to know is inside the ad. Here's what it looks like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pink-Realtree-Camouflage-Camo-Collectable-Waffle-House-Collectors-Cap/251237761790?ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1&ih=015&category=45230&cmd=ViewItem At first I was very happy with this solution but then I realized a potential problem: my description section lacks text. When people search ebay for a particular item, are they less likely to find my items because there is no text in the description? - amontef - 04-28-2014 07:40 PM Hi. I think you are fine, as far as an Ebay search goes. Ebay implemented the Best Match search results system, back in 2008. The system's algorithm is based upon a number of components. The number 1 component is a relevant title, which you easily have. I also did a search for your item and it comes up #1 under "waffle house camo" or "waffle house cap", and still appears on page 1 of the results for just "waffle house". By the way, fantastic job on the photoshop ad! |
