People lie and troll on the internet so much these days that I'm not surprised if someone's just talking out of their ass and nothing they say turns out to be true.
But if you actually want to ask serious questions and get some truth out of someone, is there ever a way to do it?
I'm talking about places other than Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Skype with your friends, emails for work, and official company websites.

Not reliably. Your best bet is to visit forums/websites filled with people that share common interests with you.
