Create account on multiple social sites like Facebook and Pinterest that link tot he store site, free facebook pages dedicated to the business are a real bargain, you can log in under the business page name so posts and comments you make link to your page.
You could begin writing original articles to add to an information section of the site (I am assuming it's a store) useful content containing lot of words feds the search engine spiders, helping you get search engine traction and may attract information seekers to within one click of the store.
Store site using the same standard catalog images and text that appears n hundreds of other site can have a real tough time getting search engine ranking, adding original text, even just introductory paragraphs to categories can help search ranking.

Yes. Consider whether it is really such a good idea, given the vast amount of competition and the number of baby goods websites going bust every day.
Have you really got a great website, a compelling offering and a USP? If not, why would people buy from you?

have some good seo's, get on social media like crazy. And have some good content. Oh and use wordpress, I heard they have some great plugins for online stores.
