Why are people so sensitive about facebook? - Erraticbreakfast882 - 04-28-2014 08:00 PM

Almost everyone in my law school is in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties. I have noticed that they get defensive about things I post on Facebook. They get highly offended when I unfriend them on Facebook after they ignore me on campus. And they tell others not to associate with me once I block them on Facebook. What is the big deal? I have the right to choose who I want to see my posts. I have the right to unfriend a Facebook friend who does not speak to me in public. Someone please explain the drama surrounding this social-networking site.

Social-networking site promote a false sense of community. Most the time people will friend you after the first time they meet you. "Becoming Friends" with someone on Facebook means that you are simply acquaintances. When you "unfriend" someone it makes them feel like they are less than an acquaintance to you.
