Yes,podcast can influence the SEO rank. Inspite that Google will not understand the video,images and audio properly.Podcast is the audio format that converts from article,by going through its description there is a link drop for the promotion of the specific site.Than by clicking through that link you can go through the products website.

Google doesn't understand the images, videos so to help google's crawler we use 'alt' attribute in image or video tags. Without having alt attribute in images or videos of your website, it will effect the website's ranking to some extent.
