I work for an ISP. Our customers say that they can't sign in to Messenger. Nor can we at the office. ... We have checked all ports used by Messenger, and all are open. Of note, we deliberately enter the incorrect password, and the message appears that the password or username is wrong, so the process of logging into Messenger is making it past the log in server(s). ... Also, those who were already signed into Messenger remained signed in, but when they signed out were not able to sign back in, getting the message that there is a problem with their internet connection.

Again, this is coming directly from the Internet Service Provider, which is our company. Our servers are working fine, thus we conclude that this is a Yahoo problem and hope they address the issue as soon as possible. ... As well, people in the Philippines were having this same issue recently.

Edit: We repeatedly tried to sign in, over and over. Finally Messenger signed in. No changes were made on our part, it just took over 10 sign in attempts and finally worked. So yes, it certainly appears to be a Yahoo issue. ... By the way, if you manage to get signed in, STAY signed in, otherwise you will most likely have issues signing in again. ... Also, a few customers say that the SMS feature is not working once signed in.
