I have a serious query about meta tags? - Organo Gold - 04-28-2014 09:08 PM Actually i"m facing problem about meta tag of my client website. The website has two title tags and two meta tags one is <meta property="og:title" content="can you help me out on-page seo"/> And second is traditional meta tag <title>can you help me out on-page seo</title> I want to know whats the difference between two. And both title should be unique or similar. - Vasilis Stergiou - 04-28-2014 09:12 PM hello, all meta tags that have "og:something" in them are for Facebook Open Graph , in order for Facebook to read them and show them with the right title . i.e. og:title , og:image , og:description etc etc the <title> meta tag is for the search engines to show the correct title... both are needed but i would suggest you to use a little bit different titles and not exactly the same. Hope i've helped - Richard - 04-28-2014 09:20 PM The first one is the code recognized by other platforms using open graph such as Facebook. The second one is for the search engine crawlers and is a standard element of an HTML for a certain website. |
