RSS is short for "Real Simple Syndication". It's not for all websites, but only for blogs. RSS is one way a visitor to a blog can subscribe to automatically get new blog info sent to them in a "feed". They have to use a "Feed Reader" as well.

But feed readers are built into some web browsers and some web portals. For instance if you make Google.com, the web portal, your home page and also subscribe to the free "iGoogle" service to setup daily news feeds, etc. you also get a feed reader for reading your favorite blogs.

Hope this helps....

RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary" and it is a popular web feed update standard. An RSS document includes full or summarized text of the website.

These updates can be read using software called as "RSS Reader" Popular online RSS readers are Google Reader and Netvibes. However, I can not live without Google Reader because it makes me sure not to forget about my favorite website updates and stuff.

As per my personal view, RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication, acts as a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as blogs, audio, news headlines ,audio, and video-in a standardized format. It may also be termed as the feed, web feed. t includes the full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. This RSS feed benefits the the publishers by letting them syndicate the content automatically. These feeds can read using a software called as the "RSS reader", "feed reader", or " aggregator",which can be web-based or mobile device based.

It stands for Really Simple Syndication which is used to get site's latest update without exploring the site totally. By using RSS users can know update about particular section.
